Yard Waste Depot Opening in May
Spring has nearly sprung and residents are turning their attention to spring yard work activities.
The City of Regina's goal is to make it as easy as possible for residents to dispose of organic materials. The City offers weekly green cart service throughout the spring, summer and fall. All yard waste can go into your green carts. This includes grass clippings, leaves and garden waste (except for elm branches).
We also encourage residents to think about the environmental benefits of leaving leaf litter undisturbed in early spring. For example, the extra cover protects ground-nesting bee species and other beneficial insects who may still be hibernating.
Starting Saturday, May 4, the Yard Waste Depot will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
By opening in May and offering weekend hours, residents will have an overflow option for their green carts. The City does not charge residents for use of the Yard Waste Depot.
Depot Guidelines:
The Yard Waste Depot is intended for Regina residents, not commercial customers. A list of accepted items and other important information can be found at Regina.ca/waste.
