Waste Services Moving to Winter Schedule
Starting November 2, the City of Regina’s waste services will be moving to the winter schedule, resulting in some minor changes to operational hours and collection times.
Yard Waste Depot Hours
The Yard Waste Depot will close for the season at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 2. Before then, residents can drop off leaves, grass clippings, bush and tree trimmings, and other yard waste. Yard waste must be removed from plastic bags before it is dropped off.
The Yard Waste Depot will re-open temporarily to support “treecyling” during the holiday season. More details about this program will be shared at a later date.
The City also reminds residents that yard waste can always go in the green cart year around.
Landfill Hours
The final day of the Landfill’s summer schedule is Saturday, November 2. The Landfill will then be closed on Sunday, but it will reopen again on Monday, November 4, with the winter schedule. The winter schedule’s hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays.
The entry gates will continue to close at 4:45 p.m. to allow vehicles to unload and exit the Landfill by 5 p.m.
Household Hazardous Materials Depot Hours
Starting Thursday, November 21, the Household Hazardous Materials Depot site hours will change to Thursday, Friday and Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. It will be closed Sunday through Wednesday.
Green Cart Collection Schedule
Beginning the week of Monday, November 4, the City will be moving to a biweekly green cart pickup schedule. A resident’s specific collection calendar will automatically update with the new schedule.
This collection calendar, as well as other important information about waste services can be found on the Regina Waste app or at Regina.ca/waste.
