Join Regina's Celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day
Celebrate the rich heritage, diverse cultures, and remarkable achievements of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada as we gather in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day in Regina. This day provides an opportunity for our entire community to deepen our understanding and appreciation of the unique heritage and outstanding contributions of Indigenous peoples, especially as 2024 marks the 150th anniversary of Treaty No. 4.
Community members are invited to attend the 2024 event on Friday, June 21, at Victoria Park. The celebration begins at 10 a.m. with the Grand Entry followed by greetings and a series of exciting performances on the stage at the west side of Victoria Park.
The event promises a diverse range of performances, activities and an artisanal market suitable for all ages. Attendees can expect interactive and educational experiences, including stations like First Nation’s cultural teachings and a tipi demonstration. Additionally, they can enjoy renowned artists such as the Mother Teresa Middle School’s Buffalo Boys and Youth Dancers, Joseph Desjarlais - Métis Fiddler, and the Red Dog Singers, and more.
A detailed schedule can be found on the Facebook event page.
