Confirmed Cases of Dutch Elm Disease in Regina
On Wednesday, July 24, City of Regina Forestry Crews will be removing seven elm trees on the 2200 Block of Elphinstone Street in the Cathedral area due to Dutch Elm Disease (DED). These trees were identified and tested positive for DED during the week of July 15.
In 2024, Regina has already confirmed a record thirty-six trees with DED this year, and more are expected to be identified.
Residents can help prevent further spread by reporting suspected DED cases to Service Regina and avoiding bringing or storing elm wood in the city.
