Citywide Residential Plow Starts Today
Last week, the City of Regina ended up receiving approximately 17 cm of snow over a two-day period. Because the total snowfall exceeded 15 cm, winter crews are beginning to plow all city residential streets starting today. Based on road inspections, some narrow residential streets and denser neighbourhoods may get ice shaving instead of grading to avoid on-street parking challenges due to snow ridges.
Residents are reminded and encouraged to remove their vehicles from the roads to help crews plow efficiently and on time. To find out when to move your vehicle, simply download the City of Regina’s sweep and plow app by visiting Regina.ca/Plow.
Winter crews were able to complete the systematic plowing of roads, sidewalks and alleys yesterday. Routine maintenance activities including snow removal from school zones remains ongoing.
The City asks residents to slow down and be safe. We also ask that for the safety of both drivers and our operators, please stay back at least 3 to 4 car lengths from snow plowing and sanding equipment.
