City to Gather Feedback on Scarth Street Mall at I Love Regina Day, Other Community Events
The City of Regina is launching the next round of conversations around revitalizing the mall on Scarth Street, starting with gathering feedback from residents at the I Love Regina Day event on Saturday, August 17. The project team will be onsite asking residents how they want to use and experience the space in the overall context of Regina’s downtown.
Building on the feedback from the 2023 survey, where people shared their ideas for improvements, the City is now moving forward with more community consultations to refine the vision and design of this important Downtown space.
In addition to I Love Regina Day, sessions are planned for those who live or own businesses or properties on Scarth Street, as well as other community partners. Invitations for these sessions will be sent out in mid-August. The project team will also set up pop-up information stands at other community events like the Farmers’ Market, giving residents more chances to learn about the project and share their ideas.
Residents should also look out for regular updates on Regina.ca/Scarth starting August 17, where they can provide feedback after the I Love Regina Day event. Feedback will be collected until the end of September 2024.
The feedback from these engagements, along with other research such as gaining insights from other cities with similar spaces, will help develop the vision and conceptual design of the area.
