City of Regina Celebrates 2024 Highlights of the past year
The City of Regina celebrates the milestones and achievements over the past year that advanced us towards our priorities.
“I am proud of all the great work accomplished by Administration in 2024,” said Niki Anderson, City Manager. “We’ve taken several important steps in crucial areas like housing and revitalization of key neighbourhoods. We are now moving forward in 2025 by building on these successes to ensure the continued prosperity and vibrancy of our amazing city.”
Here are some highlights from the past year:
Housing and Houselessness
The City made progress on several initiatives to increase housing supply and meet the needs of residents experiencing housing uncertainty.

The City made tangible advancements towards Reconciliation with initiatives such as:
- Signing a Memorandum of Understanding with First Nations University, which will increase collaborative efforts towards Reconciliation.
- With guidance and support from the Elder’s Advisory Committee, we dedicated a section of City land for a permanent Indigenous Ceremonial Site.
Revitalizing Key Neighbourhoods
The City’s efforts in 2024 included several initiatives to support and revitalize neighbourhoods at the heart of our community.

- Broke ground on an ambitious revitalization of Dewdney Avenue, with work set to resume in spring focused on underground pipe installation and roadway, sidewalk, lighting and landscaping improvements.
- Partnered with the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District to invest in several initiatives that will enhance the Downtown experience for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
