City Unveils Vision for Scarth Street Mall
The City of Regina has released its proposed vision and conceptual design for Scarth Street Mall, the downtown pedestrian corridor between 11th and 12th Avenue. Today’s release follows months of extensive public engagement, detailed technical analysis and a thorough review of best practices from other Canadian cities.
Residents will see that community priorities identified during public engagement are central to the new pedestrian-friendly design. The recently released “What We Heard” Report highlights additional aspirations shared by residents including:
- Keeping the Scarth Street Mall pedestrian-only
- More events and activities for all ages
- Enhanced safety and cleanliness
- Increased support for local businesses
- More vibrant gathering spaces with public art
- Improved accessibility for people of all ages and abilities
Residents are invited to view the proposed vision and conceptual design and provide feedback using the guestbook tool on the BeHeard Regina page. Visit Regina.ca/Scarth to explore the design and share your input by February 4, 2025.
The final design will continue to be refined as the project progresses towards construction in 2027, ensuring Scarth Street Mall becomes a dynamic hub for connection and activity.
