City Seeks Partners to Provide Complementary Services at New Indoor Aquatics Facility
The City of Regina has issued an open call inviting partnership proposals to provide enhanced services at the planned new Indoor Aquatics Facility, which is set to open in 2028.
The Indoor Aquatics Facility, located on the site of the current Sportplex at 1717 Elphinstone Street, will serve as an inclusive, accessible, multi-purpose space where residents can participate in recreation and sport activities, connect with others and socialize.
“We are open to all ideas that are aligned to the vision of the Indoor Aquatics Facility,” said Ted Schisler, Deputy City Manager of Corporate Services at the City of Regina. “Our intention is to ensure this facility delivers the best possible value and impact to our community.”
The open call invites proposals from parties interested in offering complementary business or recreation services that would augment the experiences available at the facility, such as:
- Physiotherapy, massage or other wellness services.
- Recreation and sport retail; potentially with a pro-shop element.
- Cultural space.
- Complementary leisure programs and sport and recreation services, including and beyond aquatics.
- Complementary social and/or community programs including non-profit organizations.
- Program and service provision (such as sports academies and training).
Proposals will be screened for feasibility and to determine factors such as community and financial value and impact, alignment with amenity priorities, benefit to the community, and sustainability.
Interested parties should submit their proposals by October 3, 2024. More information and detailed requirements on the application process can be found at https://regina.ca/IAFPartnerships.
