11th Avenue Construction Kicks Off for 2025
The City of Regina, along with SaskPower and SaskTel, are supporting our growing community by upgrading roads, sidewalks, lighting and aging underground infrastructure on 11th Avenue between Albert Street and Broad Street.
The 11th Avenue Revitalization Project is entering its third year of construction, with the final look of the construction beginning to take shape. A gallery of renderings of the finished 11th Ave, similar to the one below, can be downloaded on the project website at Regina.ca/11thavenue. Residents are encouraged to visit this website to learn about the project, transit changes and up-to-date traffic restrictions for all of 11th Avenue from Broad Street to Sinton Lane.
The first phase of the 2025 construction season will begin on April 7. This phase will include a road closure between Broad and Lorne Street from April 7 to the end of October to complete upgrades to underground utilities, as well as reconstruct the road and sidewalks while enhancing accessibility. There will also be infrequent road restrictions between Albert Street and Lorne Street as the City prepares the site for upcoming utility work.
While the road will be closed or restricted to vehicles, pedestrian access remains open throughout the construction zone, including access to local businesses. Residents are encouraged to continue supporting these businesses throughout the construction season.
On April 6, before this construction begins, transit will once again be moving off 11th Avenue. Similar to last year, all bus stops on 11th Avenue between Albert Street and Broad Street will move to Victoria Avenue, Lorne Street, 12th Avenue and Albert Street. The details of these temporary stops can be found on the project website or by visiting TransitLive.com. These temporary transit stops will remain in place throughout the construction season until October 2025.
The 11th Avenue Revitalization Project is part of the City Centre Revitalization Plan to create a walkable, welcoming and safe city centre that attracts more people and businesses to live, work, visit and invest.
