Treecycle
The Yard Waste Depot will be open for our Treecycle program from December 26, 2024, to January 31, 2025. *Please access the Treecycle site by using the regular landfill entrance through the scales. There is no charge to drop off your Christmas tree.

Location & Hours of Operation

Guidelines

  • This is a self-serve depot
  • You will need to remove your yard waste from plastic bags at the site.
  • Plastic bags are not compostable. Consider using paper yard waste bags or reusable containers. Paper yard waste bags can be purchased from many local retailers.
  • Tarp and secure loads when transporting
  • Commercial load are not permitted
  • No dump trailers or dump trucks

Acceptable Materials

  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings
  • Sod
  • Garden waste (plant and vegetable waste)
  • Bush/tree trimmings
  • Branches (not from elm trees) up to 1ft thick and 8ft long
  • Logs and stumps (not from elm trees) up to 1ft thick and 8ft long

Unacceptable Materials

  • Branches/logs/stumps from elm trees 
  • Sand
  • Gravel
  • Rocks
  • Kitchen food waste
  • Pet waste

Treecycle Program

Help reduce your environmental impact this holiday season. After the holidays, drop off your real Christmas tree at the Yard Waste Depot to be turned into compost. The Yard Waste Depot is just south of the landfill entrance on Fleet Street. Please access the Treecycle site by using the regular landfill entrance through the scales. There is no charge to drop off your Christmas Tree.

  • From December 26, 2024, to January 31, 2025
  • Closed on Sundays
  • 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

Guidelines

While tinsel and garlands add a festive sparkle, please be sure your tree is free of decorations and inorganic materials and is not in a tree disposal bag when you drop it off at the depot.

Smaller trees can be cut and placed in your green organics cart for bi-weekly collection or dropped off at the Treecycle Program.
