Shannon Orell-Bast

As a product of Mount Royal, where I was born and raised, I have a deep connection to this community. My parents remain in our family home. I attended local schools- Walker, Rosemont, and Martin. I studied at Lethbridge Community College, earning two diplomas- Policing and Corrections. I obtained a Bachelor of Social Work from U of R and I'm currently working on my Master of Social Work. My career has taken me through various roles in the human service field, from corrections to medical social work in the SHA, since 2007. In 2021, I opened a private therapy practice. I've been involved in union work, including collective bargaining. With a strong passion for advocacy and a commitment to living with integrity, I promise to use my character and skills to advocate for the best interests of Ward 8 residents.
