Star Stories Night A celebration of Indigenous storytelling for Regina families
Regina residents are invited to take a journey through the stars by attending Star Stories Night, a free, fun-filled family event to celebrate Indigenous Storytelling Month.
Hosted by the Saskatchewan Science Centre, Regina Public Library (RPL) and the City of Regina on February 16 from 5-10 p.m., there will be numerous activities occurring at three different locations. Some of those activities include:
- RPL Albert Branch at mâmawêyatitân centre
- Explore the stars with Laurie Rousseau-Nepton, Canada’s first Indigenous woman astrophysicist
- Indigenous storytelling in the Star Dome
- Button making
- Saskatchewan Science Centre
- Stargazing through the telescope at the Kalium Observatory
- Coding and Indigenous understanding of the phases of the moon
- The entire exhibit floor will be open
- Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre
- Constellation craft with Indigenous artist Tianna Delorme
- Learn about night vision on a guided nature night walk with Nature Regina
- Sit under the stars around an outdoor firepit
Free shuttles are available between locations, with the chance to win prizes on each bus ride!
