Regina is Preparing for Growth with a $167 Million Expansion of The City’s Water Network
Traffic Advisory – Impacts along Ring Road between Pasqua Street N and Ross Avenue
Starting on Wednesday, March 13, the City of Regina will continue the second year of its $167 million, three-year construction project to expand the City’s water network so it is ready for increased growth. This project includes building a new water pumping station, storage reservoirs and an 8.4 kilometer water supply main.
The Water Network Expansion Project is a major project that enables the City to continue meeting the water pressure and storage needs of both current and future residents while also providing a long-term solution to support growth. This project will also contribute to Regina’s vibrant community by planting additional trees and upgrading the lights on Ring Road.
Work on this project for the 2024 construction season will run between March and November. It will include multiple phases and drivers should expect regular closures, lane restrictions and speed reductions along sections of the Ring Road between Pasqua Street North and Ross Avenue. These closures and restrictions will ensure the safety of drivers and workers in the construction zone. At times, there may be multiple restrictions at once.
The first significant traffic impact starts on March 20. It includes a speed restriction for about two weeks on Ring Road between McDonald Street and Ross Avenue. The City will advise of additional traffic restrictions as work progresses. Watch for signs and use caution.
