City Seeks Community Input on Central Loop Trail Project, Launches BeHeard page
Regina residents will have a chance to provide early input in planning a new pathway system to connect key locations in and around the City Centre.
The initial community engagement phase has been launched for the Central Loop Trail project, a proposed trail that will link Regina’s Downtown, Wascana Centre, The Yards, Mosaic Stadium, REAL District, and other prominent city landmarks.
Residents are being asked to share their ideas on how they want to experience the trail, the features they would like to see, and the landmarks that should be highlighted along the route.
Feedback can be submitted through the project page at Regina.ca/CentralLoopTrail, where residents can also sign up for updates.
The project team will also be gathering feedback at pop-up stands at the Farmers’ Market in Downtown on September 11 and 25, Cornwall Centre on September 27 and Centennial Park at the Riders pre-game on September 28. Residents can visit to share their thoughts and learn more about the project.
“We are excited to hear from the community about the Central Loop Trail project. This pathway will not only improve how people move through the city centre but will also create spaces that reflect Regina’s unique character”, said Director, Sustainable Infrastructure, Karen Seguin.
The Central Loop Trail project is supportive of the larger effort to improve accessibility, encourage non-vehicular travel, and create a more connected and vibrant downtown. As sections of this route are constructed, we want to ensure the pathway features reflect the community’s vision.
