2026 Indigenous Artist in Residence
The City of Regina is accepting applications for the 2026 Indigenous Artist in Residence program. Indigenous artists from First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities who live in Regina are invited to apply. To mark the program’s fifth anniversary, five artists will be selected to create new work for inclusion in the City of Regina’s Civic Art Collection.
The 2026 residency theme, belonging, kinship and continuity, invites artists to explore relationships to place, community and cultural resilience. Artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply. Each selected artist will receive $12,000, tax inclusive, to support artist fees and project costs.
Selected artists will complete 100 residency hours between June and October 2026, create a new piece of artwork and deliver one community engagement session at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre. A final exhibition will be held in December 2026 at the Art Gallery of Regina.
Application deadline: February 27, 2026 at 4 p.m. CST
Residency period: June to October 2026
