Learn about construction in Stewart Russell Park

In October 2008, construction will begin in Stewart Russell Park to build a storm water detention pond to reduce basement flooding in Glencairn neighbourhood during severe thunderstorms.

Enhancements to Stewart Russell Park

Once the construction is complete in August 2009, Stewart Russell Park will feature:

  • a new multi-purpose athletic field
  • a new asphalt pathway through the park
  • improved landscaping
  • additional park seating
  • improved signage

Keep away from the construction zone

During excavation in the park, please stay away from the construction area and ask that your family members do the same.
